Does God care about you? Is He aware of your day-to-day activities, worries, afflictions, and sorrows?
God is not a distant, uninterested, uncaring being that created the world then left the inhabitants to fend for themselves. God engages in every aspect of your life.
Almighty God loves you with a deep and perfect love. He will call you to be His child, a part of His intimate family. He is aware of each minute of your existence. He knew you before you were born and has a divine purpose for your life. He never leaves you. He never forsakes you. He is always aware and available. He picks you up when you fall. He sets you back on the right path when you stray. He protects and comforts you through trouble when it comes. He forgives you over and over again when you lose sight, make wrong choices, and make mistakes.
He isn’t distant at all. In fact, God is involved and concerned about everything regarding you, His child. Teresa Jones takes the truths from Psalm 139 and conveys biblical examples of God’s intervention while providing an intimate walk through her personal testimony of living within His keeping.
Hilda and Kirt Bromley have set up fifty-three libraries in rural communities in Ghana, West Africa. Responding to a call from the Lord, the Bromleys trusted in Him to provide. They set up a nonprofit organization, collected books, raised funds for shipping, and then traveled to Ghana to meet with local communities to help set up their libraries. The Bromleys view the work as a mission from God to provide opportunities for people in rural areas where textbooks and educational resources are very limited. “The Glory of God is the person fully alive” is the motto of Books for Africa Library Project.
This book relates the experiences of this mission from its inception in 1996 to the present time, working with rural communities setting up libraries. There are also stories of Hilda’s childhood in the British colony of the Gold Coast, her youth as a national runner honored by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana, her intercultural marriage with Kirt, and their work with AA and Al-Anon in Ghana. Their stories relate the faithfulness of God from the time when the Lord first spoke to Hilda, “Go build Me a library in Kukurantumi.”
What Mercedes is struggling with is a shock for her. She has to find the Lord on her own terms, so she thinks she is torn into pieces and is trying to find out why. She has lost her job and has been forced into retirement, with a drastically reduced income. Now she’s struggling to pay her bills, and her husband wants a divorce. She feels her whole life is falling apart. She is not the person she used to be. She does not want to wake up any more. And now she finds herself asking, “Where are you, Lord?”
Who is not bewildered anymore? When have we faced a more confusing fog of uncertainty? Who is not asking basic questions? “Who am I? Why am I here? How do I fit into life? What’s ahead for our nation and world? For our children? How can we be sure of our family’s survival? What’s beyond this life for me? How can I get through life’s labyrinth? Is there any way out of this hole I’m in? Surely, I haven’t gone too far astray for God to intervene in my dilemma!
“Is there a God who really cares about me? If so, which God of which world religion? How is the God of Christianity different from any other? What has He done for us beyond any other? Can I know Him personally? Will He intervene in my crisis?”
When have we been getting more inadequate or wrong answers? Even from too many of our schools, pulpits, and homes? Who is not starving for definite answers? This book provides you with God’s answers. Here is biblical insight into what lies ahead for you, your family, America, and our human race. It’s about the destiny-determining decisions you and I face. You see, our future is contingent upon how soon we respond to God’s readiness and power to intervene. Yet, never will God force His way upon us. We must invite Him in.
Get ready! You are taking a tour into the lives of some very special women of God. Each has worth “far more than rubies.” These are true, very personal stories of their unique perspectives on God’s love and their faith in His justice and power. They chose to share their stories so that through their struggles, others might find a faith and comfort that then brings the courage to go forward. They would say amen to Paul’s exhortation to the Corinthian brethren: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows” (II Cor. 1:3–5 NIV).

“Sounds are all around us—traffic, sirens, noise. But do you hear the whispers, the sounds only God can create? Do you listen, do you hear? In your heart, God can speak to you. He can strengthen you by giving you grace to make a difference in this busy, noisy world. It is through the Holy Spirit, God’s voice within us, that allows us to be a witness for His Kingdom. Are you ready, what do you hear?”
You’re invited to join Kathi Lee Grand as she shares her journey, the one she’s experienced with God since 2000. This includes her “spiritual encounters,” when she first began to hear the Holy Spirit through that “still, small voice.” To date she has received thirteen God-inspired words. Each of these words is introduced in a chapter along with the acronym and referenced Scripture verses. Kathi Lee both encourages and challenges readers to explore their own journey as they too seek to hear God’s voice.
May God richly bless you, as you begin your journey with Him as you also experience His voice.
Much of my life has been unhappy. I had the worst of tempers. I could not and did not want to forgive. I wanted revenge or to get even with people. I used to hope that something bad would happen to those I felt had done me wrong. I was stressed out most of the time. I had reached a time in my life when I had to have help. I had read the Bible and felt that was the place to turn. After much studying and reading the Bible and prayer, I received peace of mind, joy, and happiness. All of the problems I had were now gone. The main reason I wrote this book is to let people know what God has done for me. I am hoping and praying it will help others too. Words cannot express the joy and peace of mind I have through knowing my Savior, Jesus Christ. And it is getting better all the time.
In 2004, Jim McKinley contracted Guillain-Barre syndrome. He was trapped inside himself with only slight movements to acknowledge conversation. Many saw him during this time and believed the end was at hand, but God had other plans. Jim did survive and now tells you about his journey. He dealt with pain and demons and was rescued by angels and describes the angel who hovered near his bed one day. He teaches us of God’s love, the importance of family and friends, and much more.
A diaconal minister, author, and creative artist, Roela Victoria Rivera became legally blind in 2004, two years after she had severe illness that left her in a coma for three days and led her to a near-death experience (NDE) which allowed her to see the glory and beauty of heaven. While undergoing eight eye surgeries over a period of eight years, she felt her faith and trust fading away for awhile. However, her deep faith in GOD and fervent prayers have strengthened her belief that GOD has never left her side and is leading her each day with new meaningful plan and purpose for her life. GOD has blessed Roela to see glimpses of heave at three points in her life: when she was ten years old, at age eighteen, and in mid-life which guided her with wisdom and strength, courage and creative power to write this inspirational book with divine guidance from GOD, holy light from Jesus, and inspiration from the Holy Spirit. She will help you see glimpses of heave in many different ways in everyday life. She also wishes to share her creative artworks and the great Lessons of Life she learned from her heavenly visions and from the Scripture. She continues her ministry for GOD’s glory through her GraceNotes Creative Ministry and inspirational items she designs to share GOD’s Words of love and grace.
Roela’s physical and spiritual journey is an inspiration to everyone who reads about it in this book. We hope you find it so.
