The Other Side of Through journeys into the lives of two women whose paths will eventually cross at a detrimental and sensitive time.
Tragedy has unexpectedly struck Talinda. The man of her dreams and prophecy lay dying in her arms at the hands of a mad man! All her life, she kept to herself and waited, although not always patiently, on the man God was preparing for her. How, does this fit the scripture;"All things work together for the good?"
Meanwhile, Nevette appears to be living the dream life with her newfound husband, Justice. She is in total bliss, pondering how awesome God is to grant her the most powerful gift on earth—the gift of love! The unexpected is on the horizon for Nevette and Justice, as Talinda learns the meaning of her husband’s favorite quote, "Ministry is always required."
The Other Side of Through is a page turner! Curl up on the couch, grab your snacks and a tissue and get ready to sigh with dreamy eyes, laugh out loud and cry with Talinda and Nevette!
Chapter One “Oh God…no! Brandon, don’t do this to me! No, baby please…look at me sweetie! Baby…no…stay with me! Hang in there baby, the ambulance is on the way! No! God please don’t… In the name of Jesus, Death I command you to release your hold…you have no authority here! I love you too baby, now stay with me…look at me sweetheart, look at me! God…no…please, God please! Yes you can baby…just breathe slowly, you’re going to make it, you have too, you’re going to be a father! Yes you are Brandon, now breathe…baby please don’t leave me! God you said these signs shall follow them that believe, God I’m laying hands on my husband, please meet me half way! Don’t let him die God! I need him God, I can’t do this without him. We’re a team, God please help me! Brandon look at me…look at me, keep your eyes open. Yes sweetheart, I said you’re going to be a father, now fight Brandon fight! Bernard…what about Bernard! No baby…not Bernard…you’re going to be a father! Brandon please you have to fight baby…please! I need you sweetheart…don’t do this to me… Noooo! Breathe Brandon, breathe...!” Talinda sat there motionless in a fog of disbelief, as the ambulance attendants tried feverously to revive her husband’s lifeless body. They had arrived five minutes too late. This was the man of her dreams. Could this really be happening? They had been happily married for seven years. She was going to tell him she was expecting their second child tonight after they got home from the church’s youth meeting with a chilled bottle of sparkling cider to celebrate. But instead she yelled it to him in desperation as he lay in her arms dying. It was a futile effort to give him inspiration to fight for life. He would have been so excited, they had been so afraid to try again, and in fact weren’t trying now. Their first child, a beautiful baby girl they named Lydia, had been still born five years earlier. Since that night, Talinda had been barren. They had decided to let God decide when and if she would conceive again, therefore used no form of birth control, and just waited on God for the right time. Her mind drifted back to their first encounter…..
