This book will turn on a bright light as you see Exodus with Christ at its center. If you are a pastor, teacher, or preacher, hundreds of diamonds await you to pick up and expound on them.

To the young ministers in third world countries, this book was written specifically for you to open your eyes to the seed truths in Exodus of Christ and their fulfillments in the New Testament.

The greater knowledge you have of the Scriptures, the greater will you see in these snapshots. Author Cordell W. Mitchell assumes your knowledge is wide and has made the subject quick and to the point, waiting only your hand to expound on it for your hearers.

You hold in your hand much of the results of Mitchell’s quest in searching for Christ in the Scriptures; His snapshots are in every book of the Bible, waiting for you to behold His face.

“And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.” (Luke 24:27)

My preview text is: Heard Their Groanings And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. (Exod. 2:24) I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt. (Acts 7:34) This groaning of the Israelites was filled with implications. Only with the eyes and ears of faith can it be seen, when taken together with Romans 8:26. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (Rom. 8:26) The four hundred years that God told Abraham that his seed would be in Egypt was over. It was time for something to happen, but what? And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.13. And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;14. And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. (Gen. 15:12-14) The Israelite people did not know what to pray for; if they prayed it would be for a rebellion or an army to come and deliver them with a mighty warrior king, but up against the mightiest military force on earth, the results would have been death and annihilation. The Holy Spirit knows the will of God, and he prayed through them with groaning which cannot be uttered in their language. The Holy Spirit prayed in the Spirit; the four hundred years were over. It was time for the next step: 1. The ten plagues of Egypt, 2. The Passover Lamb, 3. The coming out of Egypt, 4. The spoiling of the Egyptians, 5. The crossing of the Red Sea, 6. The drowning of the Egyptian army, 7. The tabernacle of Moses, 8. The water from the rock, 9. The forty years in the wilderness, 10. The law on Mt. Sinai, 11. The five books of Moses, and entering 12. The Promised Land: Only the Holy Spirit knows the will of God, and he will have someone to call forth the will of God, through praying in groanings, when it is time to bring forth the will of God.

Cordell W. Mitchell studied biblical studies, law, and banking. He married Odena Whitehead. Four children and fifty years later, they have served thirteen churches and led two Bible schools for three years each, one in Texas and the other in Western Samoa.

They considered the possibility that this sickness would bring an end to their ministry, until a still, small voice of the Spirit directed him to write. A healing touch to the lungs and an avalanche of insights would result in fourteen books.
